Kiambu County Governor Kimani Wamatangi has signed Supplementary Budget No. I for the 2025/2026 Financial Year into law, following approval by the County Assembly on November 5, 2025. The supplementary budget increases development expenditure to Ksh 10 billion, providing additional funding for infrastructure, health, education, and social programs across all 12 sub-counties.

The funds will support ongoing hospital construction and equipping of medical facilities, as well as the completion of Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) centres to enhance access to early learning. Road infrastructure will also benefit from tarmacking and cabro-paving of selected routes, rehabilitation of access roads, and the installation of over 6,000 solar-powered streetlights to improve security and connectivity in urban and rural areas.

Education and youth empowerment remain a priority, with bursary allocations increased to Ksh 750 million to assist more needy students in secondary and tertiary institutions. Over Ksh 300 million has been earmarked for youth support initiatives, while agricultural programs receive dedicated funding to enhance food security and support farmers’ livelihoods, reinforcing the county’s commitment to inclusive growth under the 2023–2027 County Integrated Development Plan.
