Kiambu County Sees Surge in Business and Infrastructure Developments

by KenyaPolls

Kiambu County is undergoing rapid transformation, marked by major infrastructure upgrades, agricultural support, and entrepreneurial ventures. A KSh 37.2 billion ($286.1 million) loan from China will fund the upgrade of Kiambu Road into a dual carriageway, aiming to reduce congestion and boost trade, though residents and businesses face potential displacement.

Innovation is also shaping the county’s economy, with ventures like TOP KING SERVICE CENTER, offering Kenya’s first 360° automated car wash alongside solar energy solutions, creating jobs and positioning Kiambu as a hub for tech-driven services. Agricultural initiatives are strengthening the dairy sector, highlighted by the 5,000-litre milk cooler handed to the Ndarugu Dairy Farmers Co-operative Society, boosting efficiency and income for farmers.

Meanwhile, the county is addressing commercial and urban challenges. A modern bus park in Ruiru will provide 200 free kiosks for traders and improved infrastructure, while tensions with real estate developers over delayed approvals need resolution to maintain investor confidence. Kiambu’s robust economic performance is reflected in KSh 3.3 billion in revenue collected, ranking it third nationally and opening avenues for reinvestment in public services.
