In a historic first, Kenyatta University (KU) men’s volleyball team won the Confederation of Eastern and Southern Africa University Sports (CESAUS) Volleyball Championship in Lusaka on November 2, 2025—Kenya’s debut title in the competition’s 24-year history. Led by MVP setter Brian Kimutai (avg. 12.3 assists/set) and opposite hitter Collins Shivachi (47 points in finals), KU defeated Tunisia’s University of Manouba 3–1 in the decider. Their success was built on a year-round scholarship program and weekly video analysis with Italian coaches via Zoom. The win qualifies KU for the 2026 FISU World University Championships in Germany. Universities Sports Association of Kenya (USAK) announced a KSh 50 million expansion of indoor courts in 10 public universities.
