The Nairobi Expressway’s extension to Konza Technopolis, completed in Q1 2024, is catalyzing industrial and residential development along the 60km corridor. Property prices in Athi River and Kitengela have risen by 25%, while logistics firms report 40% faster cargo movement to JKIA. The Ksh120 billion road, funded by China Road and Bridge Corporation, is central to Kenya’s Silicon Savannah vision. Over 50 tech firms have pre-leased space in Konza Phase 1. However, critics note the project’s debt burden and limited public transport integration. Plans for an electric bus rapid transit (BRT) system are underway.
