The Kenya Trade Remedies Agency’s SME Digital Export Program has onboarded 5,000 micro-enterprises onto global e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Etsy, and Jumia Global. Launched in late 2023, the program offers training, certification, and logistics support for artisans, fashion designers, and agri-processors. Participants reported a 40% average revenue increase in Q1 2024. Top exports include beaded jewelry, shea butter, and coffee. The 2024/25 budget allocates Ksh2 billion to expand the initiative to 20,000 SMEs. The program is a key pillar of Kenya’s export diversification strategy under BETA.
