The Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) e-Procurement Portal saved Kenyan public entities Ksh22 billion in the 2023/24 financial year through competitive bidding and reduced fraud. The Office of the Controller of Budget reports 95% of national and county tenders are now processed digitally. SMEs won 48% of contracts, up from 32% in 2021. The portal’s AI-powered anomaly detection flagged 210 suspicious bids, leading to investigations. The government plans to integrate supplier performance ratings and blockchain-based contract execution by 2025. The system is a pillar of Kenya’s anti-corruption and public financial management reforms.
