Kenya’s Olympic Committee Launches Cybersecurity for Sports Initiative

by KenyaPolls

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) has launched a pioneering initiative to protect athletes and federations from cyber threats. The program, developed with the Communications Authority, includes workshops on social media safety, secure communication tools, and protection against online harassment and data theft. This comes after several high-profile athletes reported hacked social media accounts. An athlete’s mental focus is crucial. We must shield them from digital sabotage and abuse, said NOCK Secretary General Francis Mutuku. The initiative will be mandatory for all Team Kenya athletes heading to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
