by KenyaPolls

The East Africa Sports Biomechanics Lab opened in Eldoret on July 11, 2025—featuring 3D motion capture, force plates, and gait analysis to prevent injuries and optimize performance. Funded by NOCK, AK, and Moi University, it serves elite and school athletes. Early success: adjusted training for 17 runners, reducing injury risk by 60%. Science doesn’t replace grit—it protects it, said Dr. Evans Kipkoech. The lab offers free screenings for county athletes. World Athletics awarded it Regional Centre status.
