Kenya’s National Adaptive Climbing for Amputees Team Wins Africa Gold

by KenyaPolls

Kenya’s amputee para climbing team—the *Summit Warriors*—won gold in AL2 men’s at the 2025 Africa Para Climbing Cup in Tunis on July 12, 2025. Using custom prosthetics and voice-guided routes, David Omondi topped the 15m wall in 6:14. The wall doesn’t ask how you climb—only that you commit, he said. Training at Summit Gym in Westlands, the team now has 6 members. Safaricom pledged KSh 28 million for adaptive holds and coaching. Kenya qualifies for the 2026 World Para Climbing Champs in France.
