by KenyaPolls

Kenya has launched the East Africa Agri-Food Innovation Hub in Naivasha, a Ksh2 billion facility supporting startups in food processing, packaging, and cold chain tech. Funded by AGRA, IFAD, and the County Government, the hub offers labs, pilot plants, and mentorship. Tenants include Twiga Foods, Apollo Agriculture, and ColdBox Africa. The center aims to reduce post-harvest losses (currently 30–40%) and boost value addition in horticulture and dairy. Over 100 startups will be incubated by 2026, creating 2,000 jobs. The hub strengthens Kenya’s position as a regional food security leader and supports the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
