The Ministry of Lands has digitized 12 million land parcels across Kenya, completing phase one of the National Land Information System (NLIS). The platform, accessible via e-Citizen, allows citizens to verify ownership, check boundaries, and initiate transfers in under 48 hours. Fraud and boundary disputes have dropped by 50% in pilot counties like Kiambu and Nakuru. The system uses GIS, drone surveys, and blockchain-backed title records. Over 80% of urban parcels and 40% of rural holdings are now mapped. Full coverage is targeted by 2026, unlocking Ksh5 trillion in dead capital tied to informal land.
