Kenya’s Unified Electronic Health Records (UEHR) system now covers 10 million patients across 1,500 public and private health facilities. The platform, managed by the Ministry of Health, digitizes diagnoses, prescriptions, and lab results, enabling seamless care. Integration with NHIF allows instant billing and coverage checks. Early results show 35% reduction in duplicate tests and improved chronic disease management. The system is expanding to community health units in 2024. WHO calls it a model for digital health in Africa. By 2027, Kenya aims for universal health records coverage under the Social Health Authority.
