In a move to nurture young talent, the Chess Kenya Federation officially launched a nationwide junior chess league. The initiative, aimed at players under the age of 16, will see regional tournaments held across the country, culminating in a national championship. The league is designed to provide competitive exposure for young players and to help the federation identify and nurture future grandmasters. The launch event, held in Nairobi, was attended by top Kenyan players and officials, who expressed their excitement about the program. The federation secured partnerships with several schools to ensure the league’s success and to promote chess as an educational tool.
