Kenyan AgriTech startups raised $75 million in climate-focused funding in H1 2024, led by Apollo Agriculture ($25M), SunCulture ($20M), and FarmDrive ($15M). Investors include Acumen, IFAD, and the Green Climate Fund. The funds will scale solutions for 3 million smallholders in drought-resistant seeds, solar irrigation, and index insurance. The government’s AgriTech Innovation Fund and Konza AgriHub provide co-investment. With 70% of Kenyans in agriculture, AgriTech is key to food security and rural resilience under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda. The sector is projected to create 100,000 green jobs by 2027.
