Kenya was awarded the 2025 UNESCO Pierre de Coubertin Fair Play Trophy on November 18, 2025—the first African nation to receive the honor—recognizing its sweeping sports integrity reforms. Cited achievements: zero doping violations at 2025 African Games, transparent federation elections, gender equity in leadership, and the *Athletes’ Charter of Rights*. UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay praised Kenya’s courage to clean house and rebuild trust. The award includes a USD 100,000 grant for ethics education in schools.
