Kenya is establishing itself as a central platform for African narratives internationally, following discussions between government representatives and a global entertainment company.

Stephen Isaboke, the Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, engaged with officials from Karibimage International Studios, which specializes in creating culturally authentic African content for international viewers.

The talks centered on potential joint ventures for documentaries and series showcasing Africa’s diverse heritage, customs, and social structures.

David Destin, the Founder and CEO of Karibimage International Studios, showed enthusiasm for extending the company’s operations throughout Africa, identifying Kenya as an ideal center for creative endeavors.

He was joined by Jane Jaquin, an Associate at Karibimage, along with Brandon Opondo and Jeanne De Villeneuve representing the Trade Department of the French Embassy in Kenya.

The gathering also highlighted supporting emerging African talents in cinema, journalism, design, and digital content creation, with the goal of delivering genuine stories rooted in local viewpoints.

This initiative aligns with a wider strategy to emerge as a continental focal point for digital innovation and cultural representation, supporting national initiatives to develop the digital economy and creative industries.

Kenya is further enhancing its position in disseminating African narratives to worldwide viewers while maintaining cultural integrity.
