Kenya and UAE Launch Direct Air Corridor to Boost Tourism and Trade

by KenyaPolls

Kenya and the UAE have launched a High-Frequency Air Corridor, allowing unlimited direct flights between Nairobi, Mombasa, and Dubai/Abu Dhabi. Effective March 2024, the agreement removes airline capacity restrictions, paving the way for Emirates, Flydubai, and Kenya Airways to expand services. The move is expected to boost tourism—UAE is Kenya’s 4th largest source market—and facilitate cargo exports like flowers and seafood. Bilateral trade, valued at $1.8 billion in 2023, is projected to grow by 25% in 2024. The corridor also eases visa processes for business travelers.
