Ivy Namu and Willis Raburu Split After Five Years

Ivy Namu has confirmed the end of her five-year relationship with media personality Willis Raburu, who is also pursuing the Kisumu Senate seat.

In an Instagram statement posted on Wednesday, June 17, Namu said the separation was mutual and requested privacy as she moves into this new phase of her life.

“Willis Raburu and I have decided to go our separate ways. Kindly respect our privacy at this moment,” she wrote.

Raburu has not yet released a separate statement addressing the breakup.

The pair first became linked in 2019, when Raburu invited Namu to feature on his former Citizen TV entertainment programme, 10 Over 10.

Their connection developed from that appearance, and by July 2022 they had announced their engagement while celebrating their first child’s birthday.

The two share two children, a son and a daughter.

Raburu has experienced another significant change in his personal life before.

He was previously married to Marya Prude, and the marriage ended in divorce, a fact Marya confirmed during an Instagram Q & A session with her followers in April 2021. When asked directly whether she was officially divorced, she replied, “Yes, I am.”

Raburu had previously spoken about the collapse of that marriage, saying it started falling apart after the death of their daughter in December 2019.

He said he was the one who started the divorce process after realizing the relationship could no longer continue.

“I initiated the process of divorce, and all respect to her. Unfortunately, it happened. Nobody goes into a marriage with hopes to come out. I am happy that sometimes we lose ourselves. We divorced officially, and I moved on,” he said.

Outside his personal life, Raburu has been strengthening his political profile.

In April 2026, he joined the Linda Mwananchi movement, where he is preparing for a bid for the Kisumu Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.

Siaya Governor James Orengo welcomed him into the movement, commending the energy and media experience he brings.

“Willis is running for the Kisumu Senatorial seat, and we are thrilled he has chosen to board our bus, a movement fueled by the aspirations of the youth and a drive for a better Kenya,” Orengo said.
