The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel has released a shortlist of 21 individuals who will proceed to the public interview stage for the vacant commissioner positions. The shortlist, which includes lawyers, former MPs, and civil society activists, was whittled down from over 900 applicants. Panel chairperson Dr. Elizabeth Muli emphasized that the process was guided by integrity, competence, and diversity. We are committed to delivering a team that will restore public faith in the electoral body, Dr. Muli stated. The interviews, to be broadcast live, are being closely watched by political parties who are keen to see the composition of the team that will likely oversee the 2027 General Election.
