Machakos County has received the highest disbursement of KES 21,186,267 from the Coffee Cherry Fund, according to the latest report by the New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union PLC. This milestone comes as farmers begin harvesting their main coffee cherry crop, signaling strong prospects for increased uptake.

Governor H.E. Hon Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting coffee farmers, emphasizing that coffee farming is a major economic activity in the county. The initiative aims to create more jobs, boost local incomes, and improve livelihoods for communities involved in coffee production.

The county’s ongoing efforts align with the #ChakulaMezaniPesaMfukoni vision, linking agricultural productivity to improved household income and food security.
