Key Highlights from Kilifi’s New County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP III)
Kilifi County has unveiled its latest County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP III), outlining priority projects and development strategies that will guide the region’s growth over the next five years. Governor Gideon Mung’aro, who presided over the launch, said the plan is designed to accelerate service delivery, modernize infrastructure, and boost social and economic opportunities for residents across all sub-counties.
A central highlight of the new CIDP is a renewed focus on healthcare expansion, including the upgrade of county hospitals, increasing staffing levels, and improving access to specialized services. The county also plans major investments in roads, water supply, agriculture, and urban development, with the goal of reducing inequalities between rural and urban areas. Youth empowerment, job creation, and digital transformation have also been identified as cross-cutting priorities intended to address unemployment and improve access to economic opportunities.
Governor Mung’aro emphasized that CIDP III is aligned with both national priorities and the aspirations of Kilifi residents, following months of public participation forums. The county government intends to work closely with development partners, the private sector, and communities to ensure the smooth implementation of the plan. As Kilifi embarks on this new development phase, leaders are urging transparency, collaboration, and accountability to ensure that flagship projects deliver meaningful impact to the people.
