Kisii Governor Pledges to Strengthen County Healthcare Services

Kisii County Governor Paul Simba Arati has committed to transforming healthcare services across the county, promising enhanced access to quality medical care for residents. Speaking to health management teams from all sub-counties and Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) staff at the Kisii Culture Hall, Governor Simba emphasized that his administration is prioritizing healthcare as a key component of development. He assured the public that dispensaries, health centers, and hospitals in all wards will be well-equipped with essential drugs and services, making medical care accessible closer to communities.

Governor Simba highlighted the importance of proper management of health facilities and accountability in the use of medical resources. He called on all healthcare managers to ensure prudent handling of pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals to benefit patients. The Governor also pledged to improve the working conditions of healthcare workers across all cadres, stressing that staff support and motivation are critical to achieving efficient service delivery. Additionally, the county government plans to strengthen preventive healthcare measures to combat communicable diseases, including neglected tropical diseases prevalent in the region.

Deputy Governor Dr. Robert Monda and County Health Executive Leah Bwari supported the Governor’s vision, urging healthcare practitioners to devise strategies for a more robust system. Dr. Monda emphasized the need for diligent service delivery and effective facility management, noting that the county’s success in health outcomes hinges on dedicated and coordinated efforts from all sub-county administrators and healthcare staff.
