Gachagua Urges Kajiado Residents to Uphold Peace and Unity
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on the people of Kajiado County to continue living harmoniously, describing the region as a model of coexistence among diverse communities.
Gachagua made the remarks during an impromptu roadside address in Kiserian, where he stopped to greet residents after having lunch in the town. Accompanied by Senators Karungo Thang’wa of Kiambu and Seki Lenku of Kajiado, he urged locals to foster peaceful relationships and strengthen social ties.
Kajiado is a cosmopolitan area. I ask you to live as brothers and sisters; do business together, intermarry, and let everyone feel at home, Gachagua said from the rooftop of his vehicle as residents gathered to listen.
He further revealed that he is preparing to launch a new political party in May, noting that Kajiado will play a key leadership role in the new formation.
We will have our political party, and Kajiado people will lead it. We will announce the party in May, and we will field candidates for all positions—from President to MCA, he stated.
Gachagua expressed confidence that the new party will reshape Kenya’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 General Election, insisting that the Mt Kenya region is firmly behind him.
Senator Thang’wa supported Gachagua’s assertions, saying Kenyans are ready for a new political direction, while Senator Seki Lenku affirmed he would not shy away from supporting Gachagua’s move.
I will not be intimidated and I will not be swayed. I will stand with the truth and justice, Senator Lenku declared.
The leaders urged residents to remain peaceful, united, and focused on development as the country prepares for the next election cycle.
