Four Suspects Arrested Over Violent Home Invasion on Korean Missionary Couple in Kajiado

Detectives in Namanga are holding four suspects linked to a violent robbery targeting an elderly Korean missionary couple at their residence in Elmarba, Oloililai, Kajiado County.

According to police, a gang of six men broke into the compound of Elmarba Full Gospel Missionary Church—where the couple resides—by cutting through window grills before accessing the house. The couple, aged 64 and 60, was subdued at around 3am, tied up with manila ropes, and assaulted as the attackers ransacked the home.

The robbers made away with four Samsung phones, two laptops, jewelry including a golden necklace and bracelet, a wristwatch, a solar charger, and other valuables. They also forcibly obtained the couple’s mobile money PINs and transferred more than Sh260,000. Before escaping, the gang dismantled the CCTV system and disappeared with the hard drive.

Neighbors responded to faint distress calls and helped rescue the shaken and injured couple, who have served the local church community as missionaries for many years.

A joint operation by detectives from Oloililai and the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) led to forensic analysis of the crime scene, identifying crucial leads that pointed to four suspects.

Over the weekend, officers conducted coordinated raids in Mlolongo and Mukuru Kwa Ruben, arresting Daniel Momanyi Ombati, Mutua Mang’eli Masesi—both former inmates of Kitengela Prison—alongside Nicodemus Kioko Mwangangi and Silas Obwogi.

Recovered items included two TV sets, two projectors, three mobile phones, burglary tools such as crowbars, a hacksaw, and a steel cutter. Several items were positively identified by the victims.

The suspects were arraigned in court, where detectives sought custodial orders as a manhunt continues for the remaining members of the gang.
