Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has brought together a family after a lengthy period of confusion, following the recognition of an unknown patient admitted to the medical center.
The individual, an African male who was transported to KNH by concerned citizens following a vehicular collision on December 4, 2025, along Thika Road, had been receiving treatment at the facility since that time. He was registered as unidentified on March 1, 2026, leading KNH to make a public request on social media platforms.
On Wednesday March 4, 2026, John Kobia from Tigania East, Meru County, confirmed that the patient was his son, who had been absent for more than three months. The touching father-son encounter occurred at the hospital with Ms. Catherine Bonareri from the Medical Social Work Department present.
The young man is said to be recovering satisfactorily.
KNH has conveyed profound appreciation to the general public who circulated their appeal, noting that the combined efforts reinstated hope to the family. “We are pleased to announce that Kenyatta National Hospital has successfully reunited a family after months of uncertainty and searching,” the hospital mentioned.
