Eric Omondi’s Philanthropic Impact Through Sisi Kwa Sisi Foundation

by KenyaPolls

Comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi has become a beacon of hope for many Kenyans through his Sisi Kwa Sisi foundation, which he launched in 2023. Over the past two years, the initiative has allowed Omondi to support struggling families, students, and single mothers across the country, offering both financial aid and opportunities to improve their livelihoods. His recent efforts include locating a grandmother from Homa Bay who had offered six chickens in place of school fees for her grandchildren, raising KSh 800,000 to cover her grandchildren’s education and establish a small business to sustain her family.

Omondi’s philanthropic work extends beyond this recent fundraiser. In January 2025, he raised KSh 826,000 for Kathambi, a Kisii mother with a hearing impairment, after she was assaulted by neighbors while carrying her child. In October 2024, he helped Lewis, a Form One student in Naivasha, by raising over KSh 1 million to cover school fees after a video of the boy praying for help went viral. Similarly, Omondi supported Bonface Nyaboti, a single father from Embakasi, by providing a fully stocked shop and raising KSh 657,000 to help him regain financial independence.

Other notable interventions include fundraising for Quinter Adhiambo, a smokie vendor whose stall was destroyed, and Mama Mary, a disabled single mother of six, raising KSh 556,000 and KSh 817,000 respectively to improve their circumstances. Through these efforts, Omondi has not only addressed immediate financial needs but has also uplifted communities, offering hope and inspiring others to contribute to social change. His work demonstrates the power of using influence and public attention to transform lives, reinforcing the role of compassion and community support in addressing Kenya’s social challenges.
