Divert Housing Funds to Education, Politician Urges Ruto

President William Ruto has been urged to increase funding for capitation programs that support students in need.
A politician from Kiambu has requested the president to redirect funds allocated for affordable housing toward education, emphasizing that education should be prioritized.
The politician highlighted that numerous parents are facing difficulties paying school fees at comprehensive and senior secondary schools.
Former Kanu chairman for Kiambu county David Mbiu informed the president that increasing capitation would assist many families and students to access education promptly nationwide.
Mbiu, however, suggested that Ruto should assess the educational requirements against the affordable housing initiative to determine which is more critical.
“Our President needs to address numerous issues, particularly during this time when people are struggling with various needs such as school fees, food, and other essentials,” Mbiu stated.
“He needs to consider between…”
Mbiu, who is contesting for the Limuru parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections, mentioned that several sensitive matters require reevaluation.
“Many people in this country have homes but cannot afford to pay their children’s school fees on time. If they receive support, they will always remember and share the assistance they received from the government,” he explained.
He made these remarks in Limuru town while meeting with supporters to strategize for the 2027 election campaigns.
