Siaya, November 21, 2025 – The County Government of Siaya has unveiled its Annual Development Plan (ADP) for 2024/2025, marking a significant step toward economic transformation and shared growth across the region. Anchored in Kenya’s Public Finance Management Act and aligned with the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027, the plan outlines ambitious initiatives aimed at boosting agriculture, healthcare, industrial development, and value addition. Officials say the CADP serves as a blueprint to implement key national and international development goals, including Kenya Vision 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The 2024/2025 plan emphasizes leveraging the agricultural sector as the backbone of local economic growth. Highlighted projects include county subsidy programs, crop, fish, and livestock value addition initiatives, the construction of an industrial park, and the establishment of aggregation centers to streamline trade and enhance market access for local producers. According to the County Executive Committee Member responsible for planning, the plan provides a structured framework to channel investments and government resources toward projects that directly impact residents’ livelihoods while fostering industrial and enterprise development.
Community leaders and stakeholders have welcomed the plan, citing its potential to strengthen local economies, create jobs, and enhance public services. By focusing on food security, healthcare improvement, and value addition in agriculture, the county aims to uplift living standards and ensure sustainable growth for all residents. Moving forward, the County Government of Siaya will monitor the implementation of these programs closely, prioritizing projects that can deliver measurable economic and social benefits while attracting private investment and partnerships.
