Huawei Launches Smart PV Energy Storage Solutions to Boost Kenya’s Clean Energy Sector
NAIROBI, Kenya — Huawei has unveiled its new all-scenario Smart PV and Energy Storage Solutions in Nairobi, aiming to accelerate the adoption of clean energy across Kenyan households and enterprises. The launch introduced residential inverters and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) that leverage lithium iron phosphate technology, offering enhanced safety, aesthetic design, and high energy efficiency. The company also showcased its Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar solutions designed to optimize energy yield by up to 30% and reduce power costs for businesses, highlighting Kenya’s growing potential as a regional hub for renewable energy investment.
The launch included a strategic partnership agreement with Nabico Enterprises and Rehubco Limited, appointing them as official distributors for Kenya and Somalia, respectively. Huawei’s Deputy CEO, Wan Wei, emphasized the company’s commitment to building an ecosystem that integrates profitability, simplicity, enablement, and collaborative partnerships. The initiative aligns with Huawei Digital Power’s track record of supporting sustainable energy, which has already helped customers globally generate over 400 billion kWh of green electricity and reduce carbon emissions by 200 million tons, equivalent to planting 270 million trees. In Eastern Africa, Huawei has supplied over 200 MW of solar inverters and provided residential solar solutions to more than 500 households.
