Comedian Kioko Hospitalized with Leg Injury After Payment Dispute

by KenyaPolls

New information has surfaced regarding the Machakos county payment dispute following 2mbili’s announcement about Sammy Kioko’s medical condition, drawing increased public focus to the ongoing case.

According to 2mbili, whose real name is Andrew Duncan Oduor and who is a digital content creator, Kioko suffered a significant leg injury, with medical tests confirming a fracture near his knee. The update indicates that Kioko is currently unable to move and receiving medical care, adding a personal element to a conflict that had primarily focused on documentation and payment claims.

In his online post, 2mbili stated:
“Results from the x-ray done on Sammy Kioko shows he has a fracture in his left thigh around the knee. He can’t stand hence won’t be able to walk anytime soon, a plaster has been put on his leg to try stabilize him.”

This update comes as Kioko claims he is owed KSh 19 million by the Machakos County Government for purportedly delivered supplies. The situation has triggered public discussion, particularly online, where issues of responsibility and openness continue to be prominent.

However, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has remained firm on the matter. In her official statement, she separated the county from Kioko, asserting that he is not an authorized supplier. She clarified that the contract in dispute was granted to Movata Designs and emphasized that anyone claiming to represent a supplier must provide appropriate legal documentation.

Simultaneously, the governor acknowledged that supplies were indeed provided by Movata Designs but explained that incomplete delivery toward the end of the 2023/2024 financial year hindered proper inspection and acceptance, resulting in the payment being classified as a pending bill under public finance procedures.

Sammy Kioko has recently gained attention amid assertions that he was owed money by the Machakos County Government for alleged supplies made.

While specifics about his business arrangements remain limited in public information, his name has become more widely known following public complaints and the escalation of the issue into a wider discussion about county responsibility and supplier payments. The latest statement from Governor Ndeti, however, raises important questions about his formal role, if any, in the disputed contract.

With new information about his health now emerging, the narrative is extending beyond administrative matters into a more complicated story involving legal matters, responsibility, and personal consequences, leaving many awaiting clarification from ongoing administrative reviews.
