Agricultural retailers and cultivators across Western Kenya are positioned to secure better credit facilities through a new collaboration between financial technology company Avenews and Enochem Agrovet Limited.
During the formal introduction of the alliance in Kisii County, Enochem Agrovet Manager Enock Asuga stated that the cooperation will allow the agro-dealers they supply to obtain loans. These funds will assist them in purchasing agricultural supplies to satisfy the increasing needs of local growers.
Asuga noted that the initiative unites distributors and agricultural retailers from multiple regions, specifically Kisii County, Nyamira County, Kisumu County, Homa Bay County, Migori County, and sections of Bomet County and Narok County.
“We are thrilled to formally announce this collaboration with Avenews today,” Asuga remarked. “This program will offer loans to the agro-dealers we provide with farming products, empowering them to grow their operations and serve the agricultural community more effectively.”
He further mentioned that the project is anticipated to enhance the accessibility of high-quality agricultural resources throughout the area.
Additionally, he advised cultivators to exercise caution when buying maize seeds. He strongly encouraged purchasing securely sealed packages equipped with scratch-off verification codes to prevent the acquisition of fake goods.
Emmanuel Murai, the Business Development Director at Avenews, explained that the collaboration introduces a digital financial tool called Stockist Finance. This product is specifically created to assist retailers in obtaining inventory funding and optimizing their cash flow.
Murai detailed that this online platform permits retailers and stockists to request funding via the internet. This capability ensures they can replenish their inventory swiftly and address the requirements of growers without interruption.
“We have initiated this partnership with Enochem today to advance our Stockist Finance solution,” Murai stated. “This empowers agro-dealers to secure the necessary capital to keep sufficient inventory and readily meet the demands of the farming community.”
He pointed out that the program has successfully drawn over 200 stockists from various counties, which highlights a significant demand for this financial service.
Faith Mwirigi, Head of Sales at Avenews, affirmed that the organization is a fully licensed financial entity governed by the Government of Kenya. She noted that the firm functions in strict accordance with lending laws and consumer protection mandates.
She stressed that the business strictly follows ethical lending protocols and aligns with all regulations established by the Central Bank of Kenya. These standards encompass both consumer safety and data privacy requirements.
“Avenews is deeply dedicated to accountable lending within the farming industry,” Mwirigi declared. “Our regulated status guarantees that we function under rigorous rules ensuring complete transparency, moral lending habits, and the absolute security of our clients’ personal information.”
Local cultivators and agricultural retailers warmly received the new program, noting that it will assist them in securing dependable supplies and expanding their commercial ventures.
Nancy Angwenyi, a cultivator who operates Nyachenge Agro Shop, expressed that the alliance will solidify the connections among growers, distributors, and local retailers.
“I am delighted to connect with our distributors, Enochem and Avenews, today,” she expressed. “Their backing has stimulated the growth of my enterprise because acquiring inventory is now a much smoother process.”
