Meru County residents now have improved access to quality healthcare following the launch of AAR Healthcare Kenya’s 26th outpatient care centre in Meru Town. The state-of-the-art facility, situated in the heart of the town, was unveiled in a ceremony attended by AAR’s General Manager Elizabeth Wasunna, County Health Executive Committee Member Dr. George Gikunda Mung’ania, and other key health stakeholders. The centre aims to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality medical services, reinforcing AAR’s commitment to healthcare excellence across Kenya.
The Meru Outpatient Centre is part of AAR Healthcare’s national expansion strategy, which seeks to grow the number of centres from 26 to 40 by the organization’s 40th anniversary. The facility will not only offer primary healthcare but also specialist services including paediatrics, dermatology, physiotherapy, and imaging. Dr. Anastasia Mpungu, Head of Quality Assurance at AAR, highlighted that the centre would operate round-the-clock to ensure 24/7 accessibility for the community, reflecting AAR’s mission of comprehensive care and service delivery.
County officials lauded the partnership, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between private healthcare providers and the government to strengthen service delivery. Dr. Gikunda underscored that such initiatives are pivotal in securing a healthier and more prosperous future for Meru residents. With the new centre, the county anticipates improved healthcare outcomes, reduced travel time for medical services, and expanded access to specialized treatment, positioning Meru as a key hub for quality healthcare in the region.
