The Wajir County Assembly announced that several key reports from the Office of the Auditor-General were officially tabled before the House and forwarded to the County Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for review. The reports include audits for the County Executive of Wajir (FY 2022/2023) and several county funds, among them the Climate Change Fund, Disability Fund, Disaster Management Fund, County Revenue Fund, and the Receiver of Revenue Statements. Also tabled were pending reports for the Wajir County Revolving Fund for FY 2015 and 2016, as well as the audit for Wajir Water and Sewerage Company (WAJWASCO) for FY 2022/2023.

The Wajir County Programme-Based Budget for FY 2024/2025 was also presented and referred to the Finance, Budget and Appropriations Committee to lead public participation before reporting back to the Assembly. Additionally, the Committee on Peace, Cohesion and Integration tabled its report on public participation relating to the Wajir County Peace Building and Conflict Management Bill, 2023, which is now headed to the Committee of the Whole House for consideration.

The post attracted public reactions, with some residents raising concerns about alleged corruption and nepotism in the recent Wajir County health sector recruitment. Commenters claimed that volunteer healthcare workers at the Wajir Referral Hospital, who had been promised priority consideration, were excluded from the final recruitment list. Others criticized county leadership and called for stronger accountability, improved dress code standards within the Assembly, and heightened responsibility in handling county affairs.
