3D-Printed Customisable Insoles for Football Boots Developed at JKUAT

by KenyaPolls

Engineers at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) have developed a method for 3D-printing customised football boot insoles using locally sourced, recyclable materials. Using a simple foot scan from a mobile app, they can produce insoles that correct individual biomechanical imbalances, enhancing comfort and potentially preventing foot injuries. We’re moving from one-size-fits-all to precision fit for athletes at all levels, said the project lead. They are seeking commercial partners for mass production.
